The IT apprenticeship route allows learners to work as Help Desk Technicians, First or Second Line Support, IT Infrastructure Technicians, Network Support. An Infrastructure Technician provides support to internal and external customers, helping them to be productive when using technology to do their own jobs, by using the tools to problem solve and troubleshoot non routine problems. The Infrastructure Technician sets people up on systems and provide support when they need it, rectifying issues to maintain the organisation's productivity.
4 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or equivalent (especially English, Mathematics and a Science or Technology subject); a relevant Level 2 Apprenticeship; other relevant qualifications and experience; or an aptitude test with a focus on the IT skills required.
DURATION AND STRUCTURE OF APPRENTICESHIP
The duration of this apprenticeship is a minimum of 18 months - timescales may vary depending on occupational role and/or prior relevant qualifications / experience and Assessment of Prior Learning and Knowledge (APL/K) opportunities. This will consist of 20% offsite learning, which will take place during term time at The Leigh UTC one day per week (Wednesday 8.30am - 5pm).
