Meet the Team
Chief Operating Officer
Emma joined Leigh Academies Trust as Executive Assistant to CEO Simon Beamish in 2015 following a successful career at a ‘magic circle’ law firm. After five years with the Trust, Emma was appointed Acting COO of LAT Apprenticeships to cover a period of maternity leave.
Since joining LAT Apprenticeships, she has built a strong team of apprenticeship professionals to drive the business forward, creating opportunities for both businesses and learners in Southeast London and Kent.
Emma is undertaking a Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship herself and understands the importance and benefits of on- and off-the-job learning from the perspectives of both the learner and the provider.
She lives in Bexley with her husband and enjoys long walks in the countryside with her dog.
Apprenticeships Centre Manager
Jakki is the Apprenticeships Centre Manager for LAT Apprenticeships, and has worked for the Trust since October 2020. She was previously Apprenticeship Centre Administration & Quality Manager at the University of Kent, and therefore has experience in apprenticeship delivery from Level 2 to 7.
Jakki uses her extensive knowledge, and day-to-day management for LAT Apprenticeship provision of apprenticeships to help ensure compliance with relevant quality assurance standards, codes of practice, and Education & Skills Funding Agency guidelines. With a passion for both vocational and academic learning, Jakki supports employers and apprentices with their apprenticeship requirements.
She completed a part-time degree, graduating in 2013 with a first-class BA (Hons) in Business Administration with Marketing, and is currently studying for an MBA with the Open University.
Business and Apprentice Engagement Manager
Jo joined LAT Apprenticeships in February 2021 as Business Engagement Manager. She has previously worked with a number of training providers in a business development capacity. Her passion is for work based learning and supporting others to realise their own potential and achieve their career goals.
She uses her experience to consult with employers and apprentices alike to provide the best training solutions for businesses of all sizes, whilst ensuring we are delivering a high quality service.
She enjoys the arts and loves to draw and paint in her spare time.
Business Administrator Apprentice
Ione started her journey at LAT Apprenticeships at the beginning of 2021. She wanted a career in business and knew that the apprenticeship would be excellent in teaching her the skills she needed as she has no previous experience in this industry.
Ione helps manage tasks daily, and keep her team on track and organised. She works with an experienced and talented team and has managed to pick up her role quickly. She enjoys communicating with the other apprentices and staff as well as making sure everything is running smoothly and to a high standard.
Outside of work, Ione enjoys spending time in the sun with friends and her dog.
