Typically 5 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or equivalent, including Mathematics and English. Individuals without these qualifications will be considered on a case by case basis.

Blended learning. Average 20% across the year with a combination of online and face-to-face  or virtual training sessions.

ROLE PROFILE

A Team leader or supervisor is a first line management role, with operational and project responsibilities or responsibility for managing a team to deliver a clearly defined outcome. They provide direction, instructions and guidance to ensure the achievement of set goals. Working in the private, public or third sector and in all sizes of organisation, specific responsibilities will vary, but the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed will be the same whatever the role.

 

Key responsibilities are likely to include supporting, managing and developing team members, managing projects, planning and monitoring workloads and resources, delivering operational plans, resolving problems, and building relationships internally and externally.

 

Typical job titles include Supervisor, Team leader, Project officer, Shift supervisor, Foreperson, and Shift manager.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Typically 5 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or equivalent, including Mathematics and English. Individuals without these qualifications will be considered on a case by case basis. If you do not hold Level 2 Mathematics and English, you will be required to study for your Functional Skills Level 2 at the same time as studying for the apprenticeship programme, with support from the LAT Apprenticeships Team.

DURATION AND STRUCTURE OF APPRENTICESHIP

Typically 12 months - timescales may vary depending on occupational role and/or prior relevant qualifications/experience. This will consist of 20% learning which will be a combination of online and face-to-face or virtual training sessions and off-site learning at your own place of work.

PROGRESSION

On completion, apprentices may choose to register as Associate Members with the Chartered Management Institute and/or the Institute of leadership and management, to support their professional career development and progression.

LOCATION:

Both at your workplace and at a number of Leigh Academies Trust schools situated in South East London and Kent.
