The 15th-21st of May 2023 is 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 and the theme for this year is 'anxiety'.
Anxiety is a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease about something with an uncertain outcome and some of the symptoms include:
💭 Feeling nervous, restless or tense.
💭 Having a sense of impending danger, panic or doom.
💭 Having an increased heart rate.
💭 Breathing rapidly (hyperventilation)
💭 Sweating.
💭 Trembling.
💭 Feeling weak or tired.
Anxiety is a common feeling and it's important to remember that 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐞!
There are different ways to help treat and manage anxiety disorders such as:
👉 Visiting your GP
👉 Self-help resources
👉 Talking Therapy
👉 Medication
Whichever method is right for you, you should feel supported when taking a step towards managing and overcoming anxiety 💚
